What can I say about the Elekon Batlogger A?

If you're looking for a static full spectrum recorder to leave out on site, the Elekon Batlogger A, Elekon Batlogger A+, the Elekon Batlogger C, the Pettersson D500X, the Anabat Swift and the Wildlife Acoustics SM3BAT and SM4BAT FS are the ones to consider.

All units record bat calls very efficiently, but the main consideration is going to be deployment times. The Batlogger A can last for up to 3 nights, the Batlogger A+ can last for up to 7 nights and the Batlogger C can last for 5 nights with the single included battery or 10 nights with the optional additional battery. The D500X can last for 14 nights. .The SM3BAT can last for 18 nights. The SM4BAT FS and Anabat Swift can last for up to 30 nights.

My preference is the SM4BAT FS or the Anabat Swift with their unprecedented deployment times and ease of use, although for a discrete unit the Batlogger A+ is hard to beat.

With the BATLOGGER A, bat calls can be recorded on SD card. The highly sensitive recording system with various trigger functions and settings is identical to all other BATLOGGER systems.

The device is made to just be placed in the field for a few days. With the small dimensions it is inconspicuous and thanks to its waterproof housing it can be hidden easily.  The BATLOGGER A uses easily obtainable AA batteries with a recording time up to 30 hours (3 nights).
