Hi there,

What can I say about these softwares?

They're from Wildlife Acoustics, Titley and Pettersson, so you can rely on the quality and the results.

Wildlife Acoustic's Kaleidoscope Pro offers fast auto-analysis with auto-ID, cluster analysis, cloud-based storage and file sharing, noise analysis and an excellent sonogram viewer.

Titley's Anabat Insight allows you to create or import filters to view files with more clarity and search large datasets using custom criteria or create your own auto-ID with the Decision Tree tool. You can apply species labels and add custom metadata and it comes supplied with the open source UK BatClassify project. View your labelled files on built-in maps, and export mapping data to your GIS software. Save time with built-in report generation, create count labels, metrics, metadata reports, and more.

Pettersson's Batsound is a favourite of many experienced bat workers and provides everything you need for manual analysis of recorded bat calls.

I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase so call me on 0333 9000 927 for advice.

Warm Regards,

Martin.

Batsound

BatSound uses any Windows compatible sound card for sound input and output.

BatSound supports sound formats up to 32 bits with one or two channels (mono/stereo) and sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz (for recording and playback, files of any sampling frequency can be opened and analyzed). The common WAV format is used to store files. It is also possible to open sound files with other formats such as mp3 and wma if the corresponding codecs have been installed on the computer.

Multiple windows with different sound files can be opened at the same time, facilitating comparison of signals and analysis results.

Printing and picture file export through Windows clipboard (BMP and WMF formats). Wide range zoom function.

Optional time and frequency compensation of time expanded signals to show the original time and frequency.

Play Speed function to implement time expansion playback of high-speed sound files from D500X/D1000X detectors.

Open Next/Previous command makes it easy to scan through all files in a folder. Very useful for browsing files obtained through unattended recording.

Automatic parameter extraction feature, calculates max/min frequency, pulse duration etc.

Optional grid lines in most diagrams.

Clipboard export of analysis results.

In the Virtual Bat Detector mode, sound files of time expanded or high speed recorded sounds are replayed at the original speed, emulating a heterodyne bat detector. Perfect for learning how to identify bats using a heterodyne detector, for classroom demonstrations etc.

The Automatic Recording mode makes it possible to have the computer record sounds automatically. The desired threshold level is selected and the computer will start recording to a sound file as soon as the signal exceeds this level. Many parameters are available to fine-tune this mode, e.g. by setting limits for the minimum pulse length, total recording time, maximum number of pulses to record etc. Frequency-selective triggering is also available, to avoid recording undesired signals.

Comment from a client:

"My bat detector microphone failed during a dawn survey and knew that I had a group of dusk surveys starting in two days time. I was not in a good place as I did not have a spare, but my equipment was less than a year old.

After my survey I contacted Martin by email and he called me back on the same day, a few hours later, after a quick nap. He told me he did not have a part in stock, but had already contacted the supplier on my behalf.

The next day I received a replacement part, free of charge and express delivered from Switzerland. I thought it was amazing, and could not believe it was resolved so quickly.

Due to Martin's exceptional service I was good to go with the surveys, and I really would like to thank Martin and Wildlife Countryside Services for making the dusk surveys happen."
